Packers cut standout, but oft injured cornerback

It appears Jaire Alexander’s talent is overriding his injury history in the eyes of Las Vegas Raiders fans.

After the Green Bay Packers released Alexander earlier this month, we asked our community members if they would like to see the Raiders sign Alexander.

In a poll with about 900 votes cast, 59 percent of the voters want to see Alexander end up with the Silver and Black while 41 percent think he is too injury prone to pursue.

While the Raiders’ coaching staff has praised their group of cornerbacks, the team could use another veteran presence and Alexander, 28, is intriguing. He is a top cornerback when healthy, but that has been an issue.

He has missed 10 games in each of the past two seasons. He missed just one game in 2022, but he missed 13 games in 2021. Still, it seems the fan base still see him as a worthwhile pursuit.

Here are some of your responses. Sign up and go to the comments section.

rather develop our youth I think.
The result of any questionable veteran addiiton is a reduction of play time for your future.
Why for questionable? No reason to think a player that injury prone while young becomes an every game guy at 28.
Believe what tape and history tells you at 28. Development window ended years ago hasn’t learned to keep his body ready for the rigors of the NFL is clearly apparent.

Hes not someone Id want to pursue. Hes had some character issues in Green Bay. I dont think its ever been any off field issues just a bad locker room guy. A chance of scenery could change that. Players love playing for coach Carroll.
The bigger issue is durability. Hes missed 34 games the last four years. Youd have to approach any deal with that in mind.
You also have to wonder why Green Bay didnt try to trade him or maybe they did and the market just wasnt there but youd still think they could have got a mid-late rd pick out of some team for him.

if he is an upgrade to the roster, sign him…..
