Raiders fans are confident linebacker group will improve in 2025

Big change at the position in Las Vegas

There is, no doubt, there has been major change for the Las Vegas Raiders at the linebacker position heading into the 2025 season.

The Raiders saw starters Robert Spillane (New England Patriots) and Divine Deablo (Atlanta Falcons) depart the franchise in free agency.

The Raiders slowly rebuilt the position as free agency went on by signing three veterans to one-year contracts. They added Elandon Roberts from the Pittsburgh Steelers and then new las Vegas genera manager John Spytek reunited with Devin White from their days together with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then the Raiders signed former Cincinnati Bengals captain Germaine Pratt a deal after he was released.

Has the team improved at the position? That’s what we asked our community members recently.

And, according to our readers, the answer is yes, Las Vegas is better at the position. In our poll, 67 percent of the voters think the Raiders are better at linebacker than a season ago, while 33 percent don’t see the improvement.

In my mind, I think the improvement may be minimal and their new additions need to stay healthy. I do really like the Pratt addition, though. He’s the best linebacker on the roster.

Mixed bag. Diablo was not good, Spillane was better than anyone now on a roster. None of these guys were good in coverage. That’s gonna be a big problem.

No doubt… Diablo was hot & cold but always seemed out of position and really never willing to take it to another level. Spillane was a favorite and played above his capabilities with heart and determination. I hated to see him go because of his leadership but have I faith that the new veterans we brought in will replace those traits and still have gas in the tank to stick on our team!

Idk if they are better, but probably close to the same; however, the team definitely did well to not overpay the departing FAs nor the incoming FAs.
