Even though training camp is underway, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some moves a team could still make to improve its roster. Sometimes players get disgruntled, and trades can happen, and one of the biggest names that looks to be available is Washington Commanders receiver Terry McLaurin, who undoubtedly fits a need for the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Raiders have a need at the position with Jakobi Meyers being the only receiver with any sort of success at the NFL level. Bringing in someone like McLaurin could potentially take the Raiders’ offense to the next level, and apparently, the sports books feel the same.
With McLaurin requesting a trade from the Commanders, betting odds on his next team are already coming out, and SportsBetting.ag has the Raiders at the top of the list via Raiders Newswire’s own Ryan Ward:

This is simply a matter of a player’s availability perfectly meeting a team’s need. The depth behind Meyers is questionable at best, with rookies Dont’e Thornton and Jack Bech joining Tre Tucker, who caught 47 passes for 539 yards and three touchdowns last season. McLaurin, meanwhile, has caught at least 77 passes for 1,000 yards in each of the past five seasons, making a pair of Pro Bowls while also being named an All-Pro Second Team selection last year.
McLaurin joining Meyers and tight end Brock Bowers, who has already established himself as arguably the best receiving tight end in the NFL after just one season, would give the Raiders a trio of pass catchers that could rival almost any in the league. Add in rookie running back Ashton Jeanty, steady veteran QB Geno Smith and an improving offensive line, and the Raiders could have all the pieces to be one of the top offenses in the NFL under new coach Pete Carroll.
Whether the Raiders are interested in bringing in McLaurin and are willing to meet the asking price remains to be seen, but it sounds like a move this franchise should strongly consider.
