The former LA Charger took snaps away from Amik Robertson
A new player emerged for the Las Vegas Raiders’ defense in their Week 6 win at the Denver Broncos.
Remember the name, Brandon Facyson. In his first action with the Raiders, Facyson had three tackles and key interception. He was active and showed he could be in the mix as a rotational cornerback in the coming weeks.
Facyson played 59 snaps against Denver, taking Amik Robertson’s role. The 2020 fourth-round pick played just 13 snaps and wasn’t good when he played, Robertson played well in Weeks 4 and 5, but he struggled against Denver before being yanked in favor of Facyson.
Raiders interim coach Rich Bisaccia praised Facyson made making a quick transition since signing with the Raiders during the season.
‘We got Facyson two weeks ago. His first week up he dressed, he played in the kicking game and did a good job for us playing out there,” Bisaccia said. “The punt return, played on kickoff and he had a good week of practice. He’s got a little bit more length out there and showed up.”
Of course, it didn’t hurt Facyson’s Raiders’ development that he was with defensive coordinator Gus Bradley with the Los Angles Chargers the past three seasons.
With cornerbacks Trayvon Mullen and Damon Arnette on the injured reserve and both out, at least, one more game, perhaps Facyson will get more opportunities Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
