49ers’ wide receiver may ask for a trade
The Las Vegas Raiders have been connected to veteran wide receivers all offseason and it won’t stop now.
This week, ESPN reported that San Francisco 49ers wide receiver wants a contract extension and if not, he may seek to be traded.
Naturally, the Raiders are among the teams that are being connected to Jennings.,
Jennings is free agent next year, so any team that trades for him will likely need to give him a new deal. Plus, he is a solid player, so the 49ers would probably try to get a second-day draft pick for an solid veteran player in return for Jennings.
Jennings, 28, had the best season in his four-year career with the 49ers in 2024 with 77 catches for 975 yards and six touchdowns.
While the Raiders have been connected to may veterans at the position, They did draft Jack Bech and Dont’a Thornton and are hopeful both of them will be key contributors soon. Current No. 1 receiver Jakobi Meyers is a free agent, like Jennings, in 2026 and he has said he is hopeful to remain in Las Vegas.
So, it would remain to be seen if the Raiders would want to invest in two veterans along with developing Bech and Thornton plus giving up trade compensation for Jennings.
Still, it’s not a surprise Jennings is being connected to Las Vegas like so many other wide receivers this offseason.
