Seton Hall’s new head basketball coach Shaheen Holloway is expected to take the stage to announce one of the New York Jets’ second-round picks during this week’s NFL draft, per college basketball insider Adam Zagoria.
Holloway, 45, is a Queens native well-known for his role in leading the No.15-seed St. Peter’s Peacocks on an improbable Elite Eight run in this year’s NCAA Tournament.

Holloway will announce one of the Jets’ two early second-round picks (No. 35, No. 38). The New York organization also holds two top-10 picks at No. 4 and No. 10 overall.
Holloway was hired as the new head coach at Seton Hall just four days after the Peacocks’ NCAA Tournament run came to a close. Earlier this week, he was named the Met Writers Association Coach of the Year for his work with St. Peter’s.
This week’s NFL Draft will kickoff on Thursday, April 28 in Las Vegas.
