It turns out that President Biden will not throw out the first pitch at Nationals Park this Thursday.
The Nationals are hosting the New York Mets for their first series of the 2021 season. Even though President Biden will not be throwing out the first pitch this week, there’s a chance that he’ll do so in the future.
“We look forward to welcoming President Biden to Nationals Park in the future,” a Nationals spokeswoman said.

This is unfortunate since the first pitch has become such a great tradition in the MLB, but hopefully President Biden will be on the mound at a later date this season.
Last season, Dr. Anthony Fauci threw out the first pitch for the Nationals. It wasn’t a great throw from Dr. Fauci, but he was able to joke around about it after the game.
“When I saw [the catcher] was so far away, I said I better try to throw a bullet,” Fauci said. “And that was a mistake.”
Thursday’s game between the Mets and Nationals will start at 7:09 p.m. ET.
