Legendary NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. was back on the track on Friday evening, competing in the Xfinity Series.
Earnhardt Jr. competed in his once-a-year race at Martinsville Speedway on Friday night, finishing in 11th place.
“Dale Jr. had his car closing in on the top five late after starting at the rear of the field, but a late-race spate of cautions — one of which involved his car — took away any shot at the win.
Still, the NASCAR Hall of Famer was beaming on pit road after racing at one of his self-professed favorite tracks … with no doubt one of his self-professed favorite beverages,” NASCAR wrote.
Dale was joined on the track by his wife and kids. It was a pretty special moment.
The legendary NASCAR driver is married to Amy Earnhardt. The happy couple has two children together.

Dale and Amy were married in 2016. The happy couple got engaged in 2015 at a church in Germany. They tied the knot about a year later.
“To do it at that particular time, that moment while we were in that church, it made the moment more memorable for her. I thought it was just a great place to do it. I thought about it, and every other spot that I could think of just didn’t measure up. It just wasn’t good enough, especially for her,” Dale said of his proposal, per ESPN.
Dale and Amy have been through a lot over the years.

Friday night, Dale, Amy and their kids were able to take in the special moment during the Xfinity Series in Martinsville.
