After bringing Malcolm Butler back out of retirement, the New England Patriots may be looking to bring back another former star to their secondary.
On Wednesday, Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones was so hyped about the return of Butler that he even tweeted at Stephon Gilmore.
“We got [Malcolm Butler] back. Ayooo [Gilmore] run it back like old times,” Jones said.
We got @Mac_BZ back. Ayooo @BumpNrunGilm0re run it back like old times 🤷🏾♂️

Gilmore was traded by the Pats halfway through the season and is still out there on the free agent market. New England lost J.C. Jackson to the LA Chargers, leaving the team in need of some cornerback depth.
The trio of Butler, Gilmore and Jones played together in the 2017 season. That Patriots team won the AFC East behind a top-five defense. They would go on to reach Super Bowl LII, eventually falling to Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles.
A game in which Malcolm Butler was mysteriously benched for reasons still unknown.
Jonathan Jones and Stephon Gilmore played three seasons as Patriots until the deal to move him to the Panthers last October.
