The New England Patriots are reportedly bringing in Alabama slot receiver Slade Bolden — Mac Jones’ former collegiate teammate — for a pre-draft visit on Wednesday.
Bolden also met with New England representatives at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this offseason.

Bolden – 408 yards + 3 TDs – measured 9 3/4 hands at the combine. Recently, on The Schultz Report, Bama star CB and fellow draft prospect @JayArmourDavis discussed how good of a player Bolden is.

The writing on the wall surely seems to point to the Patriots selecting Bolden with a late-round pick or signing him up as an undrafted free agent.
In addition to being Crimson Tide teammates in 2019-20, Jones and Bolden were also roommates and close friends. And during a combine press conference, Bolden said he models his game after former NFL slot receiver Julian Edelman — making him an excellent fit for Bill Belichick’s offense.
Bolden also said he often discussed the Patriots’ slot receiver scheme with Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien, who helped Wes Welker to his first Pro-Bowl season as the New England wide receivers coach in 2008.
Alabama’s Slade Bolden said he models his game after Julian Edelman. Added he’s close with Mac Jones, who was his roommate in college. On top of that, said Bill O’Brien would talk to him about how he used Wes Welker.

The news of Bolden’s impending visit with the Pats comes just one day after another one of Jones’ former teammates, John Metchie III, reportedly made his visit to New England.
Bolden finished the 2021 college football season with 42 receptions for 408 yards and three touchdowns as part of a star-studded Alabama receiving corps.
