Patrick Beverley’s old quote about Steph Curry is going viral following Sunday night’s trade between the Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis Grizzlies.

Sunday evening, the Clippers agreed to trade Beverley and two other players to the Grizzlies for point guard Eric Bledsoe.

ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski had the full details.

“The Los Angeles Clippers are trading Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu to the Memphis Grizzlies for guard Eric Bledsoe,” Wojnarowski reported.

“The Grizzlies, with an already packed roster, are open-minded on the futures of all three players in Memphis — and will likely consider trades with some of those arriving in this deal. Memphis gets salary cap flexibility in the summer of 2022 with trade.”

This marks the end of an eventful tenure in Los Angeles for Beverley. The defensive stalwart never shied away from going after the game’s greats – including Curry.

Heading into the 2019-20 season, following Kawhi Leonard’s arrival, Beverley had a blunt message for Curry.

There are still a couple of years to ago in that 5-year timeframe, but we’d be surprised if Beverley’s prediction ends up being accurate.
