Bryson DeChambeau hasn’t had a very good Masters.
The 2020 U.S. Open champion came into the final major of the year as the favorite to win. DeChambeau said before The Masters that he viewed Augusta National as a par-67 course. The powerful driver believed that he could reach the green in two on every par five hole.
DeChambeau, the longest player on tour, was set to become even longer at The Masters. The powerful driver was going to break out a 48-inch long driver – the longest shaft allowed on tour – at Augusta National this week.
Things have not gone as planned for DeChambeau, though. He barely made the cut on Saturday morning and is way out of contention heading into Sunday’s round. DeChambeau is -2 for the tournament, 14 strokes back of the leader, Dustin Johnson.
Popular golf personality Paige Spiranac has had some fun with DeChambeau on social media this week. One joke in particular is going viral.
“Lesson learned from Bryson this week guys. It’s not how long your shaft is but how you use it,” she wrote. The tweet has been liked more than 6,000 times.

Well played, Paige.
She had a message for her critics, too.
“It’s not my fault you have no sense of humor,” she wrote.
The final round of The Masters is set to air on CBS.
