For the first time since 1994, Phil Mickelson will not partake in the Masters this year. Multiple outlets, including Golf Digest, confirmed he’ll miss the April event amid an ongoing hiatus from the PGA Tour.
While that means one of golf’s biggest names won’t tee off at Augusta National, Paige Spiranac is more concerned about another icon’s availability.
“Who cares about Phil,” Spiranac posted on Twitter. “I need to know if Tiger is playing the masters.”

Apparently the PointsBet Sportsbook ambassador and social media star has a gripe with Lefty beyond his comments downplaying Saudi Arabia’s human rights violations as long as their sponsored golf tour could help the sport grow.

Mickelson’s status broke after people noticed he was not listed as an invitee on the event’s website. Yet Woods, unlike Mickelson, is not named under the “past champions not playing” section.
That likely just means Tiger hasn’t formally decided, but it’s still giving Spiranac and other fans a slither of hope.
Woods has not participated in a PGA Tour event since finishing 38th at Augusta National two years ago. Along with undergoing multiple back surgeries over the years, he was hospitalized following a single-car crash in February of 2021.
Spiranac isn’t the only one hoping the newly inducted Hall of Famer could return to pursue his sixth Green Jacket.
