Packers Coach Announces Plan For Aaron Rodgers At Joint Practice With Jets

Before the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers square off this weekend, the two franchises will go head-to-head on the practice field on Wednesday and Thursday. That’s unfortunate news for Aaron Rodgers, who isn’t a fan of joint practices.

In 2019, Rodgers had plenty to say about joint practices and why he doesn’t like to take part in them. He even told reporters that he wouldn’t mind if the Packers avoided joint practices for the next decade.

“The tough part is, they’re not trying to show a whole lot, we’re not trying to show a whole lot,” Rodgers said, via Packers Wire. “The physicality is a good thing, Going against someone else is a good thing. But schematically, there wasn’t a lot shown.”

Despite his stance on joint practices, Rodgers will be on the field this Wednesday to see what the Jets have in store for him.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Jets head coach Robert Saleh has some “pretty cool pressure packages” that he wants Rodgers to see this Wednesday.

Yes, Matt LaFleur says there was “a lot of dialogue” with Aaron Rodgers on today’s plan, given his feelings about joint practices. He says Jets have some “pretty cool pressure packages” he wants Rodgers to see. “I told Saleh and those guys over there, ‘Don’t hold back, man.'”

LaFleur also admit there was “a lot of dialogue” with Rodgers about this Wednesday’s practice. Of course, that’s because we already know Rodgers isn’t fond of this type of setting.

Fortunately for Rodgers, he won’t have to worry about joint practices for the rest of the year once this week is over. However, the next 48 hours may feel like an eternity for the reigning MVP.
