The Green Bay Packers are signing a veteran pass rusher for at least next season.
Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Green Bay is signing defensive tackle Jarran Reed. He visited the team on Tuesday and didn’t leave without signing a contract.
The #Packers are signing DT Jarran Reed, per source. He was there on a visit today.

Reed spent this past season with the Kansas City Chiefs and put up some respectable numbers. He finished with 43 total tackles (20 solo), 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
It was his best season since 2018 when he was with the Seattle Seahawks. Reed set a career-high in sacks that season with 10.5, plus had a career-best 50 total tackles.
The NFL world thinks this is a good move by the Packers as they look to strengthen their defensive line.
This is actually really solid. #RollTide https://t.co/wL01bNp0Oe

Packers actually have put together a pretty good defense. Hopefully they mainly focus on offense with the draft https://t.co/9bxbvcKTZI

1-dimensional run defender at worst. Has shown some upside in the passing game before.
At worst he takes Lancaster’s role. At most he starts next to Clark in 2 DL situations. https://t.co/jRO9aQjVLY

Jarran Reed had 10.5 sacks for the #Seahawks in 2018 and 11 sacks in the 3 years since then. He can bring some pass-rush hit from the interior, good addition for the #Packers https://t.co/5fWqmxcGvS

Sneaky good pick up for the Packers defense. https://t.co/eLKdepy2QL

With the Packers getting defensive help, that means they can focus more on the offensive side of the ball in the NFL Draft.
They’ll likely look to get at least one wide receiver after they traded Davante Adams to the Raiders last week.
