Joe Burrow’s decision to leave Ohio State and transfer to LSU did wonders for his career. He eventually won the Heisman Trophy, a national championship and was selected No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft.
Before he left OSU, Burrow competed with Dwayne Haskins for the starting job. In the end, an offseason injury and Haskins’ edge in experience were enough to prevent him from becoming QB1.
This weekend, a Georgia radio host Logan Booker decided to do some trolling of Ohio State fans and former Buckeye head coach Urban Meyer, calling his decision to pick Haskins over Burrow “perhaps the dumbest decision in the history of college football.”
Since second-guessing a coach’s quarterback decision is back in the news cycle let’s not forget perhaps the dumbest decision in the history of college football: pic.twitter.com/DvYQ6GvOwN

Obviously, Burrow’s career from 2019 on has been on a much-higher trajectory than Haskins’. However, in 2018, Haskins set records for Ohio State and earned himself NFL first-round draft pick status, while Burrow put up merely decent numbers (2,894 yards, 16 touchdowns, five interceptions) at LSU.
Right now, it seems inconceivable that a coach would pick Burrow over Haskins, but it wasn’t back then. Not surprisingly, a number of Ohio State fans have responded to Booker’s tweet and said exactly that.
Oh, and several have reminded him about Georgia head coach Kirby Smart picking Jake Fromm over Justin Fields–and how that ultimately benefited the Buckeyes.
He broke his hand in the preseason lol idk what you want anyone to do about that. Also the guy he “lost” the job too only set every single conference passing record… https://t.co/MxMWIQmvkL

TAMU chose Kyle Allen over Kyler Murray and this is the hill you’re dying on? Haskins threw for 50 TDs and 8 INTs in 2018 after that decision was made. The Joe Burrow we know didn’t come to fruition until 2019. 🗑 take. https://t.co/Ofp3CAx6Nv

Well in 2018 Haskins finished 3rd in Heisman voting, while Burrow was very average and then Fields replaced Haskins. There’s been way worse. https://t.co/kmt8doOR5h

Narrator: Burrow leaving tOSU for LSU was not a dumb decision, because he wouldn’t have gotten on the field otherwise. #smh https://t.co/2y2YREVQkj

Bro! When JF was at Georgia he wasn’t selected to start over Fromm or did you forget? Oh yeah and Burrow broke his hand and fell behind Haskins…it was the right decision….How are you verified? Asking for a friend! https://t.co/4ilFqcdAS2

I’ve never seen a fan base collectively be as jealous of another as Georgia is of Ohio State. And the programs don’t compare https://t.co/07AyMb9Ub8

Says the guy that is probably a fan of UGA that allowed Justin Fields to walk out of Athens into the arms of Ryan Day and THE OHIO state. https://t.co/rMzTNkbZNX

Burrow, Haskins and Fields aside, it seems like we have some animosity between Georgia and Ohio State fans.
Would it be too much to ask for a matchup between these two in the College Football Playoff sometime soon?
