Nick Saban Announces Suspension: College Football World Reacts

April 7, 2022 by The Spun

Alabama head coach Nick Saban looks on during the SEC Championship.

Nick Saban made it official on Wednesday night.

Alabama’s head coach announced that Crimson Tide wide receiver Agiye Hall has been suspended from the program. He is no longer listed on the Alabama roster.

Hall, a sophomore, was a four-star recruit in the 2021 class.

“He is suspended from the team for violations of some team rules, whether they’re academic or whatever, it doesn’t really matter,” Saban said, per AL.com’s Mike Rodak. “Everybody has a responsibility and obligation to respect the principles and values [of the program].”

It’s unclear if Hall will return. It doesn’t sound like Saban will be welcoming him back with open arms.

Nick Saban on whether Agiye can earn his way back to the team: “He’s already had that opportunity once, so I don’t know what his plans are for the future.”

The college football world had been speculating about Hall’s status in recent days, when it was discovered that he was no longer on Alabama’s roster.

It doesn’t sound like Hall will be back.

Coach Saban confirms Agiye Hall has been suspended from the team for violating team rules. “He’s already had that opportunity once to earn his way back so I don’t know what his plans are for the future.”

Alabama’s players appeared to be in the dark on the situation.

“I have no idea about what Agiye has got going on. But at the end of the day, I know Agiye is the person that he’s a hard worker, he’s a great kid overall. I wish him the best,” running back Trey Sanders admitted.

Alabama RB Trey Sanders on Agiye Hall: “I have no idea about what Agiye has got going on. But at the end of the day, I know Agiye is the person that he’s a hard worker, he’s a great kid overall. I wish him the best.”
