After the Patriots’ loss to the Bills on Sunday afternoon, Bill Belichick was asked by a reporter if he had any New Year’s resolutions for 2022. As you’d expect, he didn’t have a lengthy response.
“Not right now,” Belichick told the reporter. “Maybe next week.”
On Monday, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady shared his thoughts on this exchange between Belichick and the reporter. He gave the reporter credit for asking Belichick such an unusual question.
“I want to be as brave and courageous as she was, asking that question to Coach Belichick after a loss,” Brady said. “That’s what I want for the New Year.”
Judging by the response on social media, the NFL world agrees with Brady’s take on this situation.
“Definitely took some stones,” Ben Volin of the Boston Globe tweeted.

“Saw some reporters who didn’t appreciate the question, and to that I say: get over it and get a life,” Chris Bumbaca of USA Today Sports.

Brady and Belichick are two of the most fierce competitors the NFL has ever seen. After a tough loss like that, they’re not really in the mood to discuss things like New Year’s resolutions.
With that said, the reporter deserves a lot of credit for trying to switch gears during Belichick’s press conference.
