We can now add Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay to the list of people that have lowkey roasted Carson Wentz on his way out.
Irsay spoke about Wentz to the media and confirmed that it was something that the organization needed to move away from.
“It’s just, for us, it was just it was something that we had to move away from as a franchise — it was very obvious,” Irsay said.
On the Wentz decision, Irsay said: “It’s just, for us, it was just it was something that we had to move away from as a franchise — it was very obvious.”
As for Matt Ryan: “Extremely grateful to the football Gods, so to speak, (regarding) where we were compared to where we are.”

That is quite the statement on a former quarterback.
The Wentz experiment only lasted one season as he couldn’t lead the Colts to the playoffs. He got them to a win-and-in scenario against the Jaguars in Week 18 but ended up playing his worst game of the year when it mattered most.
Indianapolis lost, 26-11 as Wentz only had 185 yards passing with one touchdown and one interception.
The NFL world is flabbergasted at the shade Irsay just threw at Wentz.
Oh the shade lol love this https://t.co/MpMXrZHCIb

How bad was Wentz in the facility that the Colts are purposely crushing him every chance they get. He was there one year. https://t.co/SlTOHeJpq4

Wentz was traded to the Washington Commanders a couple of weeks ago as he’ll be their starting quarterback in 2022.
The Colts then went out and traded for Matt Ryan as they hope he can get them to the playoffs and be the answer at the quarterback position.
