Tim Tebow made his preseason debut for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday evening. It did not go very well.
The former college football quarterback is attempting to make the team as a tight end. Tebow signed a one year deal with the Jaguars, now coached by Urban Meyer, earlier this offseason.
Tebow made little to no impact in his first preseason game for the Jaguars. Unfortunately, he did go viral for a rough block attempt.

That was just about all of the impact Tebow made on Saturday night. Pro Football Talk had more on his debut.
Tebow participated in 16 snaps at tight end against the Browns, 24 percent of the offensive reps by the Jaguars. He had no involvement in special teams.
Of 21 Jaguars who had passes thrown their way, Tebow was among six who was targeted once with no receptions.
NFL fans took to social media to weigh in on Tebow’s debut.
“No position is easy in the NFL especially IF* you’ve never played it b4. Blocking is all about angles and leverage, IF* I can do it weighing btw 215- 228. He definitely should be able to at 250, gotta get his mind right tho. Watch the tape and get better,” Shannon Sharpe wrote.

“I see Tebow is getting ridiculed for … a block??? The 3rd-string DE he was supposed to take out with a wham block crashed down, completing misplaying a run to his left. He was so out of position that Tebow needed only to chip him. The runner broke free. TEBOW DID HIS JOB,” Skip Bayless added.

Tebow is still a long-shot to make the Jaguars final roster, though Meyer speaks highly of his former quarterback.
“He keeps wanting to do this,” Meyer told reporters, per 247Sports. “He’s got good hands. The drill work is great. When you get in the competitive moment, just lack of experience, he wants to body the ball. And when you get into the point where two people are going after it, you’ve got to get the ball. So he’s fighting through that a little bit, but he’s got the skill set to catch the ball.”
Tebow will need to start making an impact in the preseason, though.
