Late last week, the Cincinnati Reds revealed former No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow would be throwing out the first pitch in today’s game.
Instead of throwing to a Reds player, Burrow threw to his head coach, Zac Taylor. Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase and fellow wideout Tee Higgins were also on hand.
Burrow delivered his first pitch earlier this afternoon and delivered a ball across the plate. It was a little bit high, but as first pitches go, it could have easily been much worse.
Fans couldn’t help but notice that Burrow doesn’t have the best baseball mechanics – which makes sense given that face he’s not a baseball player.
“The most football-like throw of a baseball ever, put him on the Reds,” said one fan.

“Such a short rotation with his throw, a pure football player,” another fan said.

Burrow did well to not embarrass himself out on the mound.
