NFL Owner Speaks Out On Colin Kaepernick: Fans React

April 28, 2022 by The Spun

Michigan's Colin Kaepernick spring game

Colin Kaepernick has been working hard the past few months in an effort to earn a second shot in the NFL. Though he hasn’t received a tryout offer just yet, at least one NFL owner believes in him.

During an interview on Race in America: A Candid Conversation, Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis said Kaepernick deserves a chance to become an NFL quarterback again.

“I believe in Colin Kaepernick,” Davis said. “He deserves every chance in the world to become a quarterback in the National Football League. I still stand by it. If our coaches and General Manager want to bring him in or want him to be the quarterback on this team, I would welcome him with open arms.”

Although this sounds like a nice endorsement from Davis, there are plenty of fans who think this is just window dressing.

“So sign him,” one fan responded to Davis’ comments about Kaepernick.

“Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Davis takes a gamble, doesn’t he have an axe to grind for getting screwed out of the LA deal,” another fan said.

One fan replied, “He’s trying to be politically correct.”

As of now, the Raiders’ current quarterback room consists of Derek Carr, Garrett Gilbert and Nick Mullens.

Perhaps the Raiders will consider bringing Kaepernick in for a workout during training camp.
