The NFL restricted locker-room access during and throughout the pandemic. Now that local and state restrictions have loosened in many parts of the country, the league is heading back to normalcy.
The NFL announced on Tuesday during the Annual Meeting that locker rooms will be open to reporters this upcoming season.
This is a significant step for the NFL. Reporters get great stories when granted access to locker rooms after games. It’ll also help fans get more in-touch with players and coaches.

Locker-room access isn’t the only thing the NFL commissioner discussed on Tuesday during his press conference.
Roger Goodell also spoke about Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson on Tuesday.
He mentioned that the league doesn’t have a timetable for any potential decision on a potential punishment. But the league is reviewing the matter with seriousness.
“Roger Goodell said ‘there’s no timetable’ on a decision of any potential discipline for Browns’ QB Deshaun Watson,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Goodell’s comments. “‘We will seek to get to the bottom of the facts,’ Goodell said.”
The NFL season is still months away. The next big event will be the 2022 Draft on Thursday, Apr. 28.
