New England Patriots wide receiver N’Keal Harry left Thursday’s preseason game with a shoulder injury. Though it’s not considered a major injury, his future with the team is completely up in the air right now.
Prior to the start of training camp, Harry’s agent requested a trade. Despite wanting out of New England, the former first-round pick still reported for camp.
If Harry wasn’t injured, the Patriots could deal him before Week 1. His injury has complicated things, though.
On Saturday, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport discussed the latest timetable for Harry and how New England might handle this situation.
“He’s expected to be out about four weeks, so he’s probably not going to be on the field to start the season for the New England Patriots, and that’s significant.” Rapoport said. “N’Keal Harry requested a trade. Usually, you trade guys right before the season right around roster cut day. That’s probably not going to happen here because he’s not going to be healthy.”

In his first two seasons with the Patriots, Harry had 45 receptions for 414 yards and four touchdowns. He just hasn’t lived up to the hype thus far in Foxborough.
A change of scenery might be exactly what Harry needs to get his career on the right track. Teams should have interest in him since he’s set to earn just $1.4 million this upcoming season and $1.8 million in 2022.
