Last year, Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder announced that he would no longer oversee the day-to-day operations for the team. On Tuesday, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell declared that Snyder would remain away from this day-to-day role for the foreseeable future.
The latest story from The Washington Times, however, says otherwise.
Snyder is apparently calling the shots for the Commanders once again.
“The source, who spoke to The Washington Times on the condition of anonymity in order to speak freely, said Dan Snyder has no restrictions on what he can and can’t do in overseeing the franchise, reiterating the owner has worked on day-to-day matters,” Matthew Paras of The Washington Times wrote.”For instance, Snyder was ‘heavily involved’ when the team discussed acquiring quarterback Carson Wentz — something coach Ron Rivera even alluded to after the trade was finalized.”

If this is true, that’s a bad look for the NFL – especially since Goodell told the public that Snyder wasn’t handling the Commanders’ day-to-day operations.
As for Snyder, he said he would spend the considerable future focusing on Washington’s stadium plan. Per The Washington Times, he also had time to chime in on the team’s quarterback situation.
Hopefully, we receive more clarity on this situation in the future.
