The Pittsburgh Pirates season has gotten off to a rocky start but thankfully, Ke’Bryan Hayes seems to be alright.
Hayes had to exit the Pirates’ first game of the season after suffering a wrist injury. He was diving for a fly ball and came up in pain.

Fans were fearing the worst especially after news broke out earlier today that he was going to sign a long-term deal with the club. However, the fanbase can exhale as it’s a very minor injury.
Per Robert Murray of The Athletic, he exited the game due to a cramp in his left thumb/forearm.

Hayes is seen as the future of this Pirates team as they look to try and be more competitive.
His 8-year $70M deal is the largest deal in team history so that should give a good indication of what the front office thinks of him.
The Cardinals are currently up 4-0 on the Pirates in the bottom of the sixth inning. There will likely be another update on Hayes’ status after this game concludes.
