Deshaun Watson’s legal troubles continue to linger. Two of the women suing the star quarterback for the Cleveland Browns have amended their lawsuits.
Claims of negligence and gross negligence have been added to these two lawsuits. The women are claiming Watson knew of his own sexual proclivities during massage sessions, and yet, he failed to take precautions to prevent a reoccurrence.
Adding these new claims could potentially widen the net for discoverable evidence that can be obtained before trial.
Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing the 22 women that have accused Watson of sexual misconduct, told USA TODAY Sports that more lawsuits will add causes of action for negligence and gross negligence.
“Deshaun Watson has denied he acted intentionally; we believe strongly that we will prove he did,” Buzbee told USA TODAY Sports. “We have also added a claim for negligence allowing a jury to assess liability for unreasonable and imprudent conduct as well. This claim is just another through which the jury can assess liability and damages against him. We will likely add this claim for most of the cases, although perhaps not all.”

Watson, meanwhile, has denied all wrongdoing regarding the sexual misconduct allegations.
“I know these allegations are very, very serious, but I’ve never assaulted any woman,” Watson said during his introductory press conference in Cleveland. “I’ve never disrespected any woman.”
