Nebraska AD Releases Statement About Scott Frost Investigation

Scott Frost‘s tenure at Nebraska has already been plagued by poor play. Now, the Huskers’ embattled head coach has an NCAA investigation looming over his tenure as well.

“Nebraska’s football program and coach Scott Frost are under NCAA investigation for improper use of analysts and consultants during practices and games,” college football insider Brett McMurphy reported today. “The school, sources said, has ‘significant video footage’ confirming the practice violations took place in the presence of Frost and other assistants.”

It certainly isn’t the most glaring violation of NCAA rules, but with Frost’s record, it becomes a major issue, fair or not. New Nebraska AD Trev Alberts made it clear in his statement that the school is working with the NCAA on the issue.

“The University of Nebraska Athletic Department has been working collaboratively with the NCAA to review a matter concerning our football program,” the statement says. “We appreciate the dialogue we have had with the NCAA and cannot comment further on specifics of this matter.”

The issue has been the subject of plenty of jokes already, given Frost’s failure to even reach .500 so far at Nebraska.

Others are suggesting that the school could use this as an excuse to move on from him. That probably won’t happen immediately with the season just weeks away, but if Frost and the Huskers don’t have a big turnaround this year, it may be tough for him to hold on.

This is a great time to just wait out the NCAA and not cooperate with them at all. The fact that Nebraska is not doing that, while Scott Frost has a $20m buyout, probably says something about what they think of him right now https://t.co/yNxF7BHimh

Nebraska is going to use this as means to get rid of Frost arent they?

Nebraska AD search was like “who wants to be the one to throw Scott Frost under the bus and then drive over him multiple times??”

Trev Alberts was like “me! Me! Me! I’ll do it for mother corn!”

Frost, who led UCF to a 13-0 season and Peach Bowl win in 2017, is just 12-20 (9-17) at his alma mater. The Huskers open their season on Saturday, Aug. 28 against Illinois.
