NBA World Reacts To The Pascal Siakam News

August 16, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors.

There’s been a lot of speculation about Pascal Siakam’s future in Toronto over the past year or so.

Siakam, an NBA All-Star in 2020, has been the subject of several trade rumors over the past season. However, his future in Toronto is reportedly clear.

According to reports, the Raptors have informed Siakam that he will not be traded. The 27-year-old forward is reportedly not being shopped.

Pascal Siakam still wants to be in Toronto.

Masai Ujiri has recently made it clear to Siakam’s side that he’s not being shopped, sources tell @sam_amick.

Earlier this month, multiple NBA teams reportedly showed interest in trading for Siakam, including the Golden State Warriors.

The Raptors are heading into a new era, with the departure of longtime point guard Kyle Lowry to Miami. However, it appears that the Eastern Conference franchise plans on building around the small forward.

Here’s how the NBA world is reacting to the latest news.

“This is what happens when people try to talk on behalf of their own interests instead of the truth. GMs really thought they could rumor Siakam into a trade. Masai moves how and when he wants to,” one fan tweeted.

“This is reassuring, we need to make sure Siakam knows he is a part of this team long term. Siakam/OG/GTJ/Barnes/FVV/Achiuwa. That ladies and gentlemen is a decent core,” another fan wrote.

“I know a lot of people are down on Siakam, but he’s the kind of guy you trade away and then in two years you’re trying to figure out how to find a player with his skill set,” one fan added.

The Raptors are coming off a disappointing 2020-21 season in which they went 27-45 on the year.
