Jamal Murray has missed every game this season for the Denver Nuggets due to a torn ACL. However, the basketball world has been holding out hope that he’ll return to the hardwood at some point this month.
Unfortunately, the latest update on Murray isn’t very encouraging. Shams Charania of The Athletic is reporting that Murray has been ruled out for the Nuggets’ regular-season finale.
Additionally, Charania said Murray is unlikely to suit up for the Nuggets in this year’s playoffs.
“Nuggets star guard Jamal Murray and forward Michael Porter Jr. will be not play in Sunday’s regular-season finale vs. Lakers,” Charania said. “And as of now, sources tell me, they are unlikely to return to action during the postseason.”
Although this isn’t what Nuggets fans want to hear, neither player has been officially ruled out for the playoffs.
“I’m told Murray is very close in his process, and the Nuggets will allow him to determine his comeback timing.”

When healthy, Murray is one of the best combo guards in the NBA.
During the 2020-21 season, Murray averaged 21.2 points and 4.8 assists per game before suffering an injury.
The Nuggets are certainly at their best when Murray is on the court next to Nikola Jokic.
