Over the weekend, Bubba Wallace lost a wheel at Circuit of The Americas. Per NASCAR rules, that’ll result in a four-race suspension for Wallace’s crew chief and two other members of the 23XI racing crew.
Well, those fears were confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.
Bubba Wallace’s crew chief Robert ‘Bootie’ Barker, jackman Caleb Dirks and rear-tire changer Adam Riley have been suspended for the next four races.
Obviously, this isn’t an ideal situation for Wallace. At the end of the day though, his crew saw this punishment coming.
NASCAR fans, meanwhile, believe the rule should be changed in the future.
“Knew it was coming but damn,” one fan tweeted. “I understand the rule but 4 races is tough.”

“Damn that’s especially not gonna be good at Talladega where we are usually great,” another fan wrote.

“Whoever made this rule at NASCAR needs to be arrested,” a fan jokingly said.

No other penalties were announced at this time for Wallace’s crew.
Hopefully, a situation like this doesn’t happen again.
