On Thursday, the National Motorsports Appeals Panel announced its ruling on the penalties against RFK Racing’s No. 6 Ford team and Brad Keselowski.
NASCAR recently handed down an L2-grade penalty to RFK Racing’s No. 6 Ford team after an inspection at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The punishment handed out to the team included 100-point penalties in both the driver and owner standings, the loss of 10 playoff points, a four-race suspension to crew chief Matt McCall, and a $100,000 fine.
Unfortunately for RFK Racing No. 6 team, those penalties have been upheld. That means Keselowski will remain in 31st place in the Cup Series standings.
The reason these penalties have been upheld is because RFK Racing apparently violated Sections 14.1 and 14.5 of the NASCAR Rule Book.
The NASCAR world, however, is left wondering what the team actually did wrong to warrant this harsh punishment.
Can we know exactly what they did now? https://t.co/SKcBJ0MIt3

“Yeah I’m sure it did because y’all freaking hate him,” one fan said. “So sick of it.”

“That’s absolutely being biased, if it was Hendrick there would be zero penalties. Or even if it was a Chevrolet. NASCAR is being biased and corrupt,” another NASCAR fan tweeted.

The National Motorsports Appeals Panel certainly sent a message with its ruling.
With Matt McCall caught in the crossfire, engineer Josh Sell has served as interim crew chief for RFK Racing.
