The battle of the birds wraps up Week 2 in the NFL

Week 2 in the NFL wraps up with a battle of the birds as the Atlanta Falcons hit the road to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

While both teams are expected to be playoff contenders in the NFC this season, the Falcons need a win after dropping the season opener. Kirk Cousins and Atlanta’s offense looked rusty last week after scoring just 10 points in the loss. Meanwhile, the Eagles are riding the high of a big win where their offense looked good in Brazil but the defense struggled to get stops.

This is your place to discuss the game with other Las Vegas Raiders fans and any gambling picks you have as the lines below are provided by FanDuel Sportsbook.

Falcons vs. Eagles

  • Spread: Eagles -5.5
  • O/U: 45.5
  • PHI ML: -225
  • ATL ML: +190

Holder’s picks: PHI -5.5, Under 45.5, PHI ML

Cousins is notorious for being awful on primetime, owning a record of 12-20 in such contests. Combine that with his performance last week where he looked every bit of a 36-year-old quarterback coming off a torn Achilles, and I’m rolling with Philadelphia tonight. Maybe I’m putting too much weight into last Sunday’s performance, but at Atlanta only scoring 10 points in the season opener is part of the reason why I’m taking the under.

For the injury report, the Falcons have ruled linebacker Nate Landman (calf, quad) and cornerback Antonio Hamilton (groin) out while offensive tackle Kaleb McGary (groin) and running back Jase McClellan (knee) are on the report but don’t have a games status listed.

The Eagles will be without star wide receiver A.J. Brown (hamstring) while rookie wideout Johnny Wilson (hamstring) is questionable. Offensive tackle Fred Johnson (thumb), cornerback Isaiah Rodgers (hand), offensive lineman Tyler Steen (ankle), linebacker Devin White (ankle) and defensive tackle Milton Williams (foot) are all on the report but were full participants in the team’s final practice of the week.
