Vikings fans had reason to worry during Saturday night’s preseason game when wide receiver Adam Thielen came up limping after a play.
Thielen played just four snaps of the Vikings-Colts preseason game on Saturday. During his last play, the star wideout dropped a pass and came up limping afterwards. He didn’t return to the game thereafter.
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer addressed Thielen’s injury status on Sunday morning. In doing so, he revealed Thielen has a thigh bruise. He shouldn’t be out too long.
“He got a knee to the thigh, so he’s got a thigh bruise,” Zimmer told reporters on Sunday, via Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

This is the best news Vikings fans could’ve hoped for. It doesn’t sound like Adam Thielen’s injury is anything serious.
Minnesota, meanwhile, didn’t have much success on the offensive side of the ball Saturday night. The Vikings’ lone touchdown came from a defensive player, thanks to a pick-six. The offense managed to score just three points.
It’s still a bit too early about the Vikings’ offensive struggles. Jake Browning and Kellen Mond got the majority of snaps at quarterback on Saturday. Neither has much experience and might not even qualify as a backup on most teams. Kirk Cousins, meanwhile, played just a few snaps against the Colts. He competed five of his seven attempts for 23 yards.
The Vikings wrap up their preseason on Aug. 27 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
