Mike Vrabel Has Hilarious Comment About Loaded AFC

April 9, 2022 by The Spun

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel in the AFC Championship Game.

The AFC is poised for a massive power shift in 2022 following a massive slew of trades, free agency moves and coaching changes. So what does Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, fresh off of having the top seed in the AFC, think about how loaded the conference is?

Appearing on the Rich Eisen Show, Vrabel said that he loves how intense the NFL is and how tough it is to thrive. He called on fans to “take your heart pills and buckle up” since so many games come down to the wire.

“Sure, it’s the National Football League. It’s hard,” Vrabel said. “We played however many teams — eight or nine teams — that made the playoffs last year and beat however many of them. It’s going to be the same next year. Everybody’s got $220 million to spend, and there’s going to be great players on every team. That’s why this game is great. That’s why this league is great. That’s why everybody loves it. Eighteen teams had a chance to make the playoffs, or how many did last year, 20 something teams. Fifty-six games within the last 2 minutes were decided, 31 on the last play. Take your heart pills and buckle up.

Vrabel’s own AFC South division is poised for a pretty big shakeup this coming year. Two new head coaches and at least one new starting quarterback will try to knock the Titans off their throne in 2022.

What has @Titans @CoachVrabel50 learned from the playoff loss to Cincinnati and what about the narrative it’s his QBs fault?

The Tennessee Titans have gone 41-24 with two division titles and three playoff appearances under Mike Vrabel. Their success can be attributed to the ascension of star running back Derrick Henry while quarterback Ryan Tannehill learned to thrive in their offense.

But the NFL often stands for “Not For Long” and there is a good chance that 2022 will be their hardest challenge under Vrabel to date.

Vrabel appears ready, willing and eager to face the challenge though.

Will the Tennessee Titans return to the top of the AFC mountain in 2022?
