Maxx Crosby: Making Playoffs With Raiders Once Isn’t Enough

September 1, 2025 by Raiders Nation

Maxx Crosby, Raiders

Since entering the NFL in 2019, Las Vegas Raiders’ star defensive end Maxx Crosby has firmly established himself as one of the best defenders in the league. Crosby has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons with two All-Pro selections, and no player in the league has more tackles for loss than Crosby since he entered the league.

But for all of that individual success and well-deserved accolades, there has been little in terms of team success for Crosby and the Raiders. The Raiders have had just one winning season in those six years, making only one playoff appearance, a wild-card loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

But Crosby is starving for more, and that is his entire focus going forward for the Raiders. Crosby recently spoke on this, saying that getting a taste of the playoffs once wasn’t enough and making it back to the playoffs regularly is the standard the Raiders should be holding themselves to, via RG.org:

“It’s everything,” says Crosby in a one-on-one interview of winning while speaking to DJ Siddiqi on behalf of his investment in RECOVER 180. “I’m not here to just rack up sacks and stats. I’m here to win. I tasted the playoffs once, and it wasn’t enough. That’s the fire that’s been burning ever since. Making it back isn’t just a goal, it’s a standard we need to hold ourselves to.”

Crosby showed he was more than capable of delivering on that playoff stage as well in that one appearance. The Raiders star had six tackles, two tackles for loss, two QB hits and a sack in a close loss to the Bengals, who would go all the way to the Super Bowl that year.

At this stage in his career, Crosby has all of the personal accomplishments he can ask for, but none of the team success that is driving him. He has made it clear on numerous occasions that returning to the postseason, on the NFL’s biggest stages, is most important to him, and there is no doubt he will put his actions towards that goal this season.

Raiders WR Amari Cooper believes he ‘still has some juice left’

If the Raiders are going to make a run to the postseason, the offense is going to have to take a step up as well, and the franchise turned to an old face in wide receiver Amari Cooper, signing their former top-5 draft pick to a one-year deal. And Cooper is looking to show he still has a lot left in the tank to help out the Raiders.
