Coming into the 2025 season, several questions surround the Las Vegas Raiders and whether they will be able to make a leap this year. The defense, in particular, is a question mark, despite being led by one of the premier players in the league on that side of the ball in defensive end Maxx Crosby.
Crosby is undoubtedly one of the leaders on this team, and he puts the pressure on himself to lead this defense. As training camp was set to begin, the Raiders made a handful of signings to bring in some players, with the biggest name being safety Jamal Adams.
The two-time First Team All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler has dealt with injuries over the past couple of seasons, but at one time was arguably the best safety in the entire NFL. And in speaking on Adams, Crosby believes he remains a dynamic player who can help the Raiders this season, via Shifty QB on X:

There is no denying that at his peak, Adams was an absolute game-changer in the secondary. The question now is whether he can still reach that level, or close to it, and make an impact on this Raiders team. Crosby seems to believe so, and Adams will have the opportunity to prove it during camp.
The Raiders did bring in Jeremy Chinn this offseason as one of their big free agent signings, and he is slated to start at strong safety next to Isaiah Pola-Mao. However, if Adams proves that he is someone who can make a difference on the field, perhaps the Raiders could adjust their roster to put the best players in the best positions, thereby raising the level of this defense.
Crosby is a believer in what Adams can bring, and the former All-Pro will be looking to prove him right and revive his career with the Raiders.

At the end of the day, the most important thing for the Las Vegas Raiders this season is to take a leap and hopefully contend for a playoff spot, which is something head coach Pete Carroll expects to happen in 2025.
