Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz may have gotten away with one.
Trailing the Dallas Mavericks by four late in the fourth quarter, Mitchell came up clutch with an and-one bank shot from the key.
It was an impressive play. However, he may have gotten away with an offensive foul.
Bill Simmons believes an offensive call should have been called on Mitchell for the use of his elbow during the play.
“Great comeback win by Utah but man — the no-call on that Mitchell elbow/charge down 4 right before the 3 point play was really really really bad,” Simmons said. “You can’t not call that. (PS: didn’t care who won, didn’t bet on the game.)”

Mavs forward Dwight Powell appeared to be on the receiving end of Mitchell’s elbow. It just so happens that he took a trip to the free-throw line on the following possession. He missed both attempts.
Mitchell and Co. responded with an incredible lob to Rudy Gobert to put the Jazz up by one. With just seconds left, the Utah defense clamped down and forced a tough three from Spencer Dinwiddie that missed.
The Jazz needed a win and they got it. The series is tied at 2-2.
Mavs fans, meanwhile, are going to be thinking about the missed foul call on Mitchell for a while.
