Defensive tackle has missed past two games
With three defensive starters out against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Raiders got some more tough news Sunday afternoon when it was determined that defensive tackle Maurice Hurst isn’t healthy enough to play.
Meanwhile, backup running back Jalen Richard is also not active. He missed all week of practice with a chest injury and was listed as questionable to play. He was hurt last week on a kickoff return. The Raiders only have two running backs active Sunday, starter Josh Jacobs and backup Devontae Booker. Rookie wide receiver Henry Ruggs III may return kicks in Richard’s place. Backup running back Theo Riddick was placed on the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday.
The seven players lifted off the list Saturday are all active for the game. They are safety Johnathan Abram, cornerback Isaiah Johnson and defensive linemen Maliek Collins, Johnathan Hankins, Arden Key, Kendal Vickers and David Irving. In addition to Riddick, starters, right tackle Trent Brown, defensive end Clelin Ferrell, Linebacker Cory Littleton and slot cornerback Lamarcus Joyner all on the COVID list and will not play against the Chiefs,
Offensive lineman Jaryd Jones-Smith was promoted from the practice squad.
