With the No. 6 overall pick in the draft and some serious question marks at the quarterback position heading into the 2022 season, the Carolina Panthers are a prime candidate to select one of the top QB candidates in this year’s pool.
As of right now, the top-three quarterbacks in the 2022 class are Kenny Pickett, Malik Willis and Matt Corral.
When asked if he thinks any of these quarterbacks deserve to be taken with a top-10 pick, Panthers head coach Matt Rhule gave a telling response.
“I think one of them will be a top-10 pick,” he said, per Carolina insider Joe Person.
Rhule declined to discuss the prospects specifically.

This year’s quarterback class is considered weaker than some of the others that have graced the draft stage in recent years. But, the idea of another year with Sam Darnold at the helm could be enough to push the Panthers into selecting one of the top options from this year’s group.
Rhule and offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo were present at Pickett’s pro day in Pittsburgh, Willis’ in Lynchburg and Corral’s in Oxford this past week. The Panthers also sent representatives for Sam Howell’s pro day in Chapel Hill.
Given this interest in each of this year’s top QB options, it appears the Carolina organization plan on using their No. 6 pick in search of their quarterback of the future.
