Mark May Releases Score Prediction For Clemson vs. Notre Dame

December 19, 2020 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Mark May talks before being laid off by ESPN.

With Ohio State taking care of business against Northwestern in the Big Ten title game, the college football world now turns its eyes to the ACC, where Notre Dame and Clemson will be playing for a second time to determine the conference champion. Ahead of the game, former ESPN college football analyst Mark May released a score prediction.

May and former ESPN colleague Lou Holtz still make picks together on The Crowd’s Line College Football Show. May thinks that Clemson will avenge its loss and knock off Notre Dame by two scores.

“Clemson is giving 10.5 this game, I still think they’re going to cover the number, coach, I have Clemson winning this game, 38-24.”

Holtz predicted the same score, but with Notre Dame prevailing. He thinks that Texas A&M will be part of the playoff if his prediction turns out to be correct. Here’s the clip:

A true freshman was able to throw for 439 yards last time against @NDFootball DEF. Can’t wait to see what Trevor Lawrence will do. I like@ClemsonFB winning and covering the spread.

What’s your pick? @TheCrowdsLine

Holtz added that he thinks Notre Dame is one of the two “complete” teams in the country – Alabama being the other.

Notre Dame, provided it doesn’t get blown out, will likely be part of the College Football Playoff field when it is announced on Sunday. Clemson probably needs to win to make the case for its inclusion.

The game is set to kick off at 4:00 PM ET on ABC. It’s billed as being the best contest of the day.
