Nearly 10 months after being placed on administrative leave, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer got served with a two-year suspension from Major League Baseball. Today, the Dodgers responded.
In a statement released on Twitter, the Dodgers made it clear that they take the allegations against Bauer seriously and do not condone domestic violence or sexual assault. They said that they will not comment further until Bauer’s appeals process is complete.
“Today we were informed that MLB has concluded its investigation into allegations that have been made against Trevor Bauer, and the Commissioner has issued his decision regarding discipline. The Dodgers organization takes all allegations of this nature very seriously and does not condone or excuse any acts of domestic violence or sexual assault.
“We’ve cooperated fully with MLB’s investigation since it began, and we fully support MLB’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Child Abuse Policy, and the Commissioner’s enforcement of the Policy. We understand that Trevor has the right to appeal the Commissioner’s decision. Therefore, we will not comment further until the process is complete,” the Dodgers said.
Major League Baseball placed Bauer on administrative leave back in July 2021 while investigating sexual assault allegations against him. The investigation extended well into the start of the 2022 season before this decision came down.

Trevor Bauer is an All-Star, Cy Young winner and ERA title winner. He signed a three-year, $102 million contract with the Dodgers in 2021 and was 8-5 in 2021 at the time of his administrative leave.
Bauer has a lengthy appeals process to go through before his situation is resolved. He has made it clear that he vehemently denies the allegations against him.
