A video of Juwan Howard in the handshake line following Michigan’s upset tournament win over Tennessee on Saturday is going viral.
Juwan Howard and handshake lines haven’t exactly mixed well this season. But he appears to have had a change of heart.
After the Wolverines upset the Volunteers in the Second Round of March Madness, several Tennessee basketball players had tears in their eyes.
Juwan Howard took it upon himself to console Tennessee’s Kennedy Chandler after the game. Take a look below.

This is a welcome sight after what transpired between Juwan Howard and Greg Gard during the Michigan vs. Wisconsin game earlier this year.
Howard’s and Gard’s actions have called into question whether or not handshake lines are necessary.
NBA legend and now Georgetown head coach Patrick Ewing would like it removed altogether.
“I don’t like the handshake line,” Ewing said earlier this year, via Sporting News. “I don’t like it because anything is possible. You’re just getting through a heated battle, a heated game and anything can happen to make things worse, which is what happened in that situation. If it’s my call, I think we should just take away the handshake line.”
Juwan Howard’s actions in the handshake line following Michigan vs. Tennessee is a great example of why the handshake line exists.
The Michigan head coach’s classy display of sportsmanship is an important factor in sports.
The Wolverines, meanwhile, are moving on to the Sweet 16 where they’ll face the winner of Villanova-Ohio State.
