It’s hard to beat Alabama. Since the start of the College Football Playoff era they’ve only lost five games against their SEC rivals. But commentator Tim Brando believes there will be a major upset potentially involving Alabama in 2021.
Appearing on The Jboy Show, Brando suggested that Alabama may lose to SEC West rival Ole Miss this year. He said that Ole Miss don’t fear Alabama’s defense and that head coach Lane Kiffin has an answer to everything Alabama might do.
“Lane Kiffin. At Ole Miss, he is going to beat either Bama, either LSU or (Texas) A&M…” Brando said. “(With Alabama) I mean they have no fear. They have no fear in anything that Bama does defensively. And Kiffin is just, you know, he’s the (Steve) Spurrier of his generation… And in (quarterback Matt) Corral, we’re talking about the first quarterback that’s gonna be taken in the draft…”
It’s an interesting argument that Tim Brando is making to be sure. Ole Miss is expected to have a superb offense this coming year, and people are raving about Matt Corral.

But by the same token, it’s hard to pick Ole Miss to beat Alabama IN Alabama given their recent history. Alabama have won their rivalry game with the Rebels five years in a row, averaging over 60 points a game in the last four.
That said, Alabama isn’t completely above the surprise upset – especially against a high-octane offense.
The Crimson Tide will likely be favored in every game they play this year until someone exposes some kind of weakness.
Is Tim Brando on to something, picking Ole Miss to potentially beat Alabama?
