Look: Reporter’s Laptop Sticker Goes Viral At Final Four

April 3, 2022 by The Spun

Guster is for Lovers at the Final Four.

A college basketball reporter’s “Guster Is For Lovers” laptop sticker is trending on social media during the Final Four on Saturday evening.

Matt Norlander, a college basketball reporter for CBS, is sitting behind the Duke bench at the Final Four in New Orleans on Saturday night.

The veteran college basketball reporter’s laptop features a “Guster Is For Lovers” sticker in white, red and black.

The laptop sticker has been on prominent display at the Final Four since at least 2016, according to social media detectives.

What is “Guster Is For Lovers,” you ask? It has to do with the band, Guster.

Here’s the definition, per That Music Mag:

“Guster is for Lovers”- a phrase taken as the band crossed the Virginia state line while on tour back in the day that stuck with fans in the form of bumper stickers available for .99 at guster.merchline.com (where you’ll also find oven mitts, guitar capos, dreidels, and a Guster “ugly” sweater).  People, their merch game is tight!  To say Guster is for lovers is beyond the truth, because hating on Guster is like kicking the cutest puppy in the universe. I had the pleasure of speaking with Guster percussionist/drummer, Brian Rosenworcel, to talk about music, pre-Internet promotion, band evolution and their recently released album, Evermotion.

Interest in the phrase is certainly surging on Saturday night, thanks to the CBS college basketball reporter.

Duke and UNC, meanwhile, are closing in on halftime at the Final Four in New Orleans on Saturday night.

The game is airing on CBS.
