What’s the best helmet in college football?
Fans across the country likely have several different picks, from Ohio State to Michigan to Notre Dame. Another one is currently No. 1, though.
According to 247Sports’ rankings, the Texas Longhorns have the No. 1 helmet in college football ahead of the 2022 season.

Texas’ helmet has always been a classic look. Always a white base, the Longhorn logo first appeared on the helmet in 1962, according to helmethistory.com. I also believe the Longhorn is one of the best in all of collegiate sports, which is why Texas earns the top spot this year. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said Thursday after the Longhorns wrapped up their final on-field session before the 100-play scrimmage under the lights at Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium that he likes where things stand in the quarterback room as spring practice draws to a close. Ohio State transfer and former No. 1 overall recruit Quinn Ewers will battle with returning starter Hudson Card for the starting quarterback job this fall.
It’s tough to argue with that.
