Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers will square off against Matt Campbell and Iowa State on Wednesday at the Cheez-It Bowl in balmy Orlando, Florida.
On Tuesday, the head coaches got a chance to see each other face-to-face for the first time before doing battle on the field. Each one dressed-to-impress for the occasion.
Swinney and Campbell both arrived at the media session in full sweatsuits. The Cyclones head coach opted for a completely black outfit, while Clemson’s program leader stole the show with a bright orange look.
In addition to their similar outfits, Swinney and Campbell hit nearly identical poses for their photo-op.

All jokes aside, Clemson and Iowa State could produce one of the bowl season’s more entertaining games.
Before the start of the 2021 season, few would have predicted that the Tigers and the Cyclones would both have at least three losses. However, their campaigns didn’t quite go according to plan, leaving both programs with a spot in the Cheez-It Bowl.
Clemson ended the year strong after a 2-2 start, rattling off wins in seven of their next eight games. Swinney’s Tigers ended up 19th in the final College Football Playoff rankings and nearly claimed a spot in the ACC Championship game.
Iowa State finished the regular season at 7-5, but four of those losses came by one score or less. Campbell’s Cyclones knocked off Oklahoma State in the middle of the year and challenged Baylor and Oklahoma when on the road.
Regardless of how the 2021 schedules panned out for Clemson and Iowa State, their meeting this week should be fascinating to watch.
The Cheez-It Bowl will get underway on Wednesday. Kickoff is at 5:45 p.m. ET on ESPN.
