New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick on Sunday Night Football.

New England Patriots fans haven’t lost faith in Bill Belichick just yet, despite last year’s disappointing season. In fact, after a recent picture of the 69-year-old head coach surfaced this week, the loyal fanbase might admire their team’s leader even more.

On Monday afternoon, a picture of Belichick lifting weights start to circulate on social media. The Patriots head coach appears to be putting in some pretty serious work, squatting with a 25-pound plate on each side of the bar.

At 69 years old, lifting any sort of weight regularly is impressive. Considering the fact that its Belichick only adds to the legend of the Patriots head coach.

A handful of Patriots fans that caught wind of the picture were thrilled to see Belichick in the gym mixing it up with his players. A few even hoped that it would be a sign of big things to come this season.

Belichick will have a tall task to turnaround the Patriots in 2021 after last year’s struggles. New England still needs to iron out its quarterback position and has a few other holes that will need to be addressed before the start of the season.

However, the Patriots did return a handful of talented veterans and should still be strong on defense headed into the new year. With Belichick on the sidelines, it’s hard to pick against New England in too many games.

That being said, the Patriots will need to get past the high-powered Buffalo Bills to win the AFC East or try to snag a Wild Card spot from one of the conference’s other deep teams. Belichick will need to show why he’s one of the greatest coaches of all time to get his team back into the playoffs.

New England will begin its pursuit of trying to get back to the postseason on Sept. 12 against the Miami Dolphins.
