Since arriving in Minnesota, Patrick Beverley’s energy has helped charge the Minnesota Timberwolves. But that same energy makes plenty of enemies on the opposing team, and that showed itself once again on Saturday.
Late in the first quarter, T’Wolves forward Taurean Prince got tangled up with Bucks big Serge Ibaka. Things got tense between the two players; but there was a shift when Beverley made his way over from the top of the key and shoved Ibaka.

Beverley and Ibaka had to be separated a couple of times before the Minnesota guard was ultimately ejected.
The undersized, undrafted guard has a history of physical play that can go over the edge at times and cross over into dirty play. In last year’s playoffs, Beverley was ejected from the Clippers’ Game 6 loss to the Sun’s when he shoved Chris Paul in the back during a fourth quarter timeout.
Patrick Beverley has made a way in the NBA by doing the dirty work and being an irritant. Obviously, there’s no need to be shoving players in the back like that. Especially after the Chris Paul situation where he could’ve been pretty seriously hurt.
That said, Pat Bev is gonna Pat Bev. And the league’s office will continue to discipline him as they see fit.
