An old video of Chris Rock and the late Kobe Bryant is making the rounds on social media today.
Rock, the 57-year-old comedian, is quite the person of interest right now. While hosting The Oscars on Sunday night, he made a disparaging joke about Jada Smith and got slapped, live on-air, by Will Smith because of it. Smith then proceeded to shout, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f—king mouth!”
It’s quite literally one of the most shocking things to ever happen on live television (assuming it wasn’t staged).
Since Sunday night’s bizarre series of events, Rock has been a trending topic on Twitter. A popular Lakers fan account took the opportunity to post an old video of the famous comedian trying to get the late Kobe Bryant’s attention during a game while he was sitting courtside. Let’s just say his attempt was unsuccessful.

Nothing fazed Kobe Bryant. He’s one of the few players in NBA history capable of complete focus night in and night out. The current Los Angeles Lakers could use that mentality nowadays.
The Lakers lost their 43rd game of the season on Sunday night. They’re now on the brink of missing both the playoffs and play-in tournament.
Maybe LeBron James and Co. can use the old Kobe Bryant and Chris Rock video as motivation for the rest of the season.
